About us
Free tools for better LinkedIn content
LinkedInFormatter.org is a free, independent tool suite for formatting LinkedIn posts and profiles.
What we do
LinkedIn doesn't support native bold, italic, or custom font styles. We built LinkedInFormatter.org to close that gap — a fast, free, no-signup tool that converts plain text into Unicode characters that display as formatted text on LinkedIn.
Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server. No account is required. No usage limits.
Our tools
- →LinkedIn Text Formatter — bold, italic, script, gothic, mono and more
- →LinkedIn Post Formatter — format posts with live preview
- →LinkedIn Bold Text Generator — bold-only, fast
- →LinkedIn Font Generator — all 10+ font styles
- →Twitter Text Formatter — format for Twitter / X
- →Instagram Text Formatter — bios and captions
How the formatting works
The Unicode standard includes a block of Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols (U+1D400 and above) containing characters that visually resemble bold, italic, script, and other styled versions of normal letters. Because these are real Unicode characters — not HTML or CSS — they can be copied and pasted into any platform that renders Unicode, including LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
Our character counter mirrors LinkedIn's exact counting method: supplementary-plane Unicode characters are stored as UTF-16 surrogate pairs and count as 2 characters each in LinkedIn's limit. Most other tools undercount these — ours doesn't.
Important limitations
- →Unicode-formatted text is not searchable inside LinkedIn. Do not format keywords you want to rank for in LinkedIn search.
- →Formatted text is not accessible to screen readers. Use it sparingly and consider your audience.
- →Bold and italic Unicode characters count as 2 in LinkedIn's character limit.
- →Very old devices may display formatted characters as empty boxes.
